What's New in 2013Under Armour is back for a third year as our title sponsor. This partnership with UA brought athletes from 90 schools and four New England states together last year. This year we would like to have all the New England states represented!
The opportunities for New England High School athletes to get involved in 7 on 7 football have increased but nobody does it like us. We are hosting 3 Regional Tournaments with 40 teams at each location. All teams are guaranteed a minimum of FOUR games. The finalists at each location will advance to the New England Championship, hopefully again at Gillette Stadium. Under Armour will also provide 2 compression shirts, a pair black shorts and other surprises to each athlete as well as coaches shirts at all the regional locations. Our History and MissionIn 2011 the tournament formally known as the Swampscott/Lynnfield 7 on 7 shootout got a new name and an exciting new partner, Under Armour. UA is partnering with the best tournaments around the country and has selected this tournament in its 8th year to be their representative in the Northeast. Partnering with UA brings national exposure and many benefits.
Tournament Director, Steve Dembowski, believes the partnership with Under Armour will take the tournament to a whole new level. He said, "We are thrilled that UA selected us as a partner. UA brings so much to the table and we will elevate the tournament to match their expectations. We look forward to our new relationship with UA and providing the teams in the Northeast a great event to promote and showcase their athletes' skills" The tournament began as a way to get high school teammates together in the summer to compete. NORTH - JULY 20th, EXETER HS, Exeter, NH, 10am SOUTH - JULY 21st, OLIVER AMES HS, North Easton, MA, 10am (full) EAST - JULY 27th, BISHOP FENWICK HS, Peabody MA, 10am (full) NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIP, Last week of July, TBA WHY: Great way to build team unity / compete vs the best / get the same Under Armour gear your players will purchase anyway! FORMAT: POOLS; Teams will play in a five team round robin. The top two teams will advance to the playoffs from each pool. After pool play the tournament becomes single elimination. WHO: This is a team tournament - Players should be from the same school - no All-Star teams. The first 40 teams to complete the registration. You must be a regional finalist or selected as a Wild Card to advance to the England Championship. Tournament Benefits- Guaranteed four, 24 minute games.
